Jaime Fraser-Pye
Jaime is a young emerging artist currently based between at his studio in Petersfield, Hampshire whilst studying a BA in Fine Art: Painting at Camberwell College of Arts, London.
His work is textured, mixed media abstraction – he layers his paintings in a visceral manner using mixtures of paint, materials, additives, grit, sand, fabrics and concrete and finds inspiration from his surroundings with textures inspired by an urban environment thereby creating a rough edge to the painting.
Through processes such as layering, burning and sanding he generates a physical and emotive depth, leaving coarse gestural marks. He has always enjoyed the use of texture, it evokes a strong sensory depth enticing the viewer further into his work. To date his artwork has been acquired worldwide by countries including Japan, France, Germany and USA.
